Default More Fuel Pump Problems

My 2005 Jaguar S-Type wouldn't start this morning. No fuel pressure. I removed the fuel filter and with the pump running, no fuel is coming out. I am sending down 12 volts to the pump on the passenger side and I hear the pump humming along, but no fuel coming out of the line to the fuel filter behind the front tire. I have pulled up both fuel pump assemblies and looked for any kind of problems, I can't find them. I'm confused just how the pump works, where does it send the fuel out to the engine from? Is it the line from the top of the fuel pump assembly as in the picture below? Seems to me to be the only spot, as the other two lines off the fuel pump assembly go to and from the other fuel pump assembly to transfer fuel right? What could be causing this? I did just clean out the drivers side fuel pump assembly(the one without the electric fuel pump) before the problem arose. How can that be related? Did I break the jetpump? Does the final fuel pressure out of the tank come from the jetpump side?

OK I figured it out. I damaged the plastic hose that connects the two pumps together, and there is a rupture that was gushing out inside the tank which caused the loss of fuel pressure. Now where can I find just this double hose set that connects the two pumps?

Try forum sponsor SNG Barratt. Very knowledgeable guys!

John, does your retainer rings look the below picture? If so how did you remove it to get the pump or sender out?

No I snapped a picture of mine below. I used a wood block and a hammer to get the rings loose enough to turn by hand. I had to hit it pretty hard but the plastic held up on mine. Not sure I would suggest it with yours though. I'm sure you have seen the PVC tool from another thread. Looks like the way to go with yours.

Thank you for replying John. I don't believe mine twists off like yours. I did try tapping on it with a wood block, did not budge but did crack a couple of fins. It still holds I am not to worried about it.

Probably needs a pump but did you change the fuel filter? Do, if not.
