Wow, really beautifully presented! The detailing under the bonnet in particular is just stunning.
It's really difficult to judge how the modern Jags will be seen further down the line. I think the S Type has an advantage in its retro design. Now I know it's loved and hated in equal measure by the populace at large, but it is that bit different and in a very attractive way.

PO probably did that to disguise the fact he was stealing the shock-tower-covers for use on his replacement, newer S-Type, knowing that Jaguar had "Cost-reduced" this elegant, though useless item from 2005 on.....C'mon Steven! that's a 2003, it should have shock-tower covers! But otherwise, it's beautiful. Great find!

Wrong side? Are you crazy? This is the correct side for the steering wheel on a British car (Damn, can't find a Union Jack icon to wave)
