Is it my FOB or door lock causing alarm?
2006 S-Type R
I noticed that I can lock my doors using my fob, but if I come back to the car after 10 mins or longer the key fob no longer works, I have to use my key to unlock the door. And then once it's unlocked and I open the door, my car alarm goes off! I can then immediately get it to turn off by pushing the unlock or lock button on my key fob. Once I get the alarmed turned off my key fob starts working again. But when I leave again I have to go through the working-not working-unlock with key-alarm blaring cycle all over again.
A key shop told me I need a complete new fob and program for it at the tune of $220. I started troubleshooting and found that my left passenger door's lock actuator wasn't working. Could this be causing the issues I'm having? I tried manually locking that door and re-locking and unlocking with the key fob but it doesn't seem to make any difference with the working-not working-unlock with key-alarm blaring cycle.

All locks/actuators need to 'agree'. (be in the same state)
When one lock is different, an error occurs and the security system is NOT HAPPY.
Get the fault lock/actuator fixed and the rest of the system will likely work fine.
The driver's door module could also be faulty or have a LOW VOLTAGE problem?

Thanks for this confirmation. Do you have a recommended supplier or source for me to get the door actuator?
