Awesome Chris. Glad you like her more now. Got the Borlas's today. Going on tomorrow. My 11 y.o. son threw a rock at a wall and it bounced off busting the window behind the passenger rear window. Safelight Glass on it tomorrow. Good thread.

Chris, ordered ther Magnaflow's "next day" last night. The 12" glass packed Walker "Race Bullet" resonators are likely too free flowing and short. Need to stop-up the gases to regain some torque.

This is true, and for everything I've read this is the reason "why" I haven't done this mod yet. I have the 2.5 pipes, high flow CATs, and X pipe sitting in my garage, but I keep reading the lost in the Low end TQ thats so sweet in our cars... Well, I really want to put them in. Even though my stock Cats are good, I will like to change the location away from the engine bay, this alone should keep things cooler and therefore save some HP (ECM timing).

Well, let us know how it turns out to be, by adding those "Race Bullet", maybe adding this alone with the rest of the stuff, we can all keep some of that awesome low end and gain more HP! By slowing the gasses a bit, but after a good WOT there will be enough pressure to outcome the Race Bullet (small, and needed) restriction.

10-4 on that mystype04, Go ahead and pop on the hi-flow cats and 2 1/2" pipe. Place the cats against (not touching) the beginning of the floor boards (where the persons feet are placed). This is approx. 12" below where they are now. Recieved the Magnaflow's today and going on tomorrow. Will let yas know what the "Butt Dyno" reads.

Yes I must get it done soon, but I've been busy getting my BMW ready. 12" sounds right Bfsgross, thats about where I want them. BTW I'll be waiting on your test results!

Seth any follow up on this post regarding slowing down the gases to regain low end torque loss with that new "Race Bullet"?

It's been awhile bud and you been tinkering around with your exhaust more than anyone on here,LOLz...

Hey jag79! What's up pal? The difference between the 12" Walker glasspacked and 14" Magnaflow resonators? Nada my man. Admittedly she sounds mean under acceleration and cabin noise is pleasant during cruise with an authoritive groan...I just want her a little bit quieter. Likely going to pop on a pair of 18" Walker glasspacked tube mufflers for additional quietness. As you're aware, making an engine "Quiet" generally means the exhaust is being stopped-up or slowed. This will build up back pressure. She pulls a bit harder off the line as I continued to cork up her butt, if that's what you wanted to know?

Thanks bro, that's exactly what I wanted to hear from you. I wanted to add more back pressure also; so you recommend just the 18" walkers just before the mufflers or anything else added to it? Thanks.

Chris, I spoke with Mafioso about his 18" resonators (You guys are sick and immature!). He said she purrs, barks during hard acceleration, but relatively quiet during cruise. I'm going this way...10 years ago, I wouldn't have minded the noise.

DRONE NOT AN ISSUE. Her highway cruise sound is perfect. A light hum when your just on the pedal. Near silence when you get off of it.

I'm using the Borla ProXS muffler... nearly the same dimensions as the oft used Magnaflow muffers. The 4" Magnaflow resonators aren't glass packs but straight through design just like the mufflers.
Chris my question to you is If the 4" Magnaflow resonators aren't glass packed and just straight thru, whats the point of having them even installed, why not just do a resonator delete b/c your Mufflers are straight thru as well? My understanding is your not going to be causing any back flow pressure with them on.

Cheers.

jag79, the Magnaflow are flow through (no chambers), constructed with glass-packed baffles. Any device that increases the surface area within the exhaust stream will slow down exhaust gases, effectively creating back pressure and lower noise.
