My Patience Is Gone - F* This Car!! - Limp Again "FIXED"

FYI - Went into limp mode again after snapping the connector into the MAF sensor. It happened in front of an AutoZone so I asked them check for any diagnostic codes - according to his OBD reader there were none. Oh well, I knew it would not be that easy.
Shame to be spending my precious vacation time doing this crap, but I have no use for the dealerships at this point.
I am going to try and find out the name and model number of the remote starter system that was put in the car. I think I kept some documentation on it when I had it removed. My thought is to look at the wiring diagram to see where the system connected into the Jag's harness. Hopefully, I or someone can find all the t-taps and solder the connections back. Does that make sense?
BTW - I just bought a major tool set. Looks like I am going to be doing some wrenching (much to my dismay). Gave me a good reason to throw the wife's crap out of the garage.

If there's a crack in the intake then I'd hope that the warranty would replace the part.
Such a crack would most likely allow varying amounts of unmetered (by the MAF) air in, completely confusing the PCM and ruining its attempt at proper fuelling. It won't know what the cause is (O2s that lie or varying MAF or whatever), so may not be able to flag a code (as it doesn't know which to flag). Also, most codes need to occur under similar circumstances but such a leak would maybe not produce those.

Also, when removing them many need completely removing or they may act as aerials (whether transmitter or receiver).
I've made a note never to buy a car which has or has had remote start fitted.

Wow, this may be beyond my capabilities. Does anyone know someone in the Cleveland area that could check/repair this?

Just finished putting on a new intake tube (don't know what it is called) and a new MAF. A friend of a friend has a wrecked '04 (hit in the back) and he just put a new MAF on it prior to the accident. I grabbed the whole assembly for free. I will drive around and see what happens. I am proceeding under the assumption that I am dealing with two simultaneous issues. The intake pipe and t-taps. The intake should be fixed at this point but, the t-taps, based on my preception of the complexity, is something I want experienced help to fix. I know soldering and shrink wrapping tubing that is responsible for sending digital data is something I don't want to make worse with my ham-fisted soldering. Any idea how much I should expect to pay for something like this. My guess would be around $700.

700 for fixing the remote starter hookups??? OMG im not charging enough. I usually charge 50 dollars. lol If you would like me to do it, i will drive up and o it. I have a very good friend of mine in North Ulmstead i can stop and see too. (North Ulmstead Performance)
For future reference Jim at the above shop is one helluva installer, but is far from being cheap. just an FYI.
I try and help everyone out, im not out to make a killing on anything. Drive it around and see if you can pinpoint a certain function you are doing when the limp mode appears. Such as turning right, or braking hard, etc etc etc

So, if you guys decide to get together and work on it, let me know when and where. I would more than happily lend a hand.

YUM! Sterles is great!
Even if this happens before August 9th... Look forward to seeing you anyway, Rick!
This time you just may have to make an Akron run.....LOL

WOW, if you guys do get together to fix this one, please be sure to make a pictorial write up, maybe a spot of video to top things off.
I can see a Hall of Fame entry on the horizon.
I only wish I could join in the fun.
Great offer Jason, I'd grab your hand off (as it were)
Looking forward to the updates.

Wow everybody! I am sooooooo appreciative of your support! I have pm'ed Jason and will pm the others to coordinate this effort. I know Jag SEAL Team 6 will be able to fix this problem.
BTW:
After replacing the tube, I noticed that it seemed to idle better - but unfortunately it went into non-viagra mode again. I have tried to detect a pattern to these events, but there does not seem to be one or it is too complex for my simple brain to figure out. As best I can tell; it is random.
Once again, Thanks everyone!

I never understood other states and their vin inspections etc....
Guess we have it good in NJ, but we have to deal with DMV for everything.
Take care,
George
