The touch screen uses an LED matrix.
What you need to do is fit a touch membrane over the lcd screen
To do this you need to remove the head unit then the switch facia

My android unit has a direct input for a touch control so interfacing was easy.
If you don't have a touch input you will need an interface.
The interfaces emulate a mouse which converts the touch membrane inputs to usb

Hey guys, I did some research; we need these 2 parts if using it with an Android tv box or phone. (Of course this is if you have a video interface already)

http://car-solutions.com/en/universa...roller-utc.php

http://car-solutions.com/en/7-flexib...reen-panel.php

I ordered it today. Whenever I get to install it, I'll add it to my above linked thread...

You only need the controller if you android unit does not have a touch input

If you use an android like this
Android 4.1.1 Navigation Box CS9320 (GPS and GLONASS)

You dont need the interface

Also if you select an android with RGBS you can send the signal directly to the screen.
IE video interface is not needed, just a 4pdt switch

With a std video interface you need a Composite video out which is low quality

These ones have composite (video in + camera) and RGBS for OEM nav and android
Universal Car Video Interface. RGB Converter. Buy Online

Universal RGB Video Interface. Car Multimedia Adapter

I use the first interface which adds parking guidelines with the connections as
LCD in/out - OEM head unit & NAV (this is where you tap the cable on the boot)
RGB in - Android unit
AV in/out - Rev = Rear camera, AV1=Aux Video (next to ACM), AV2 Left mirror camera, AV3 Right mirror camera

I have another interface connected to the steering wheel controls, to remap the buttons
This has USB and relay outputs. I use this to switch the video inputs. IE no switch for the video interface. It also remaps the steering wheel buttons and gives me the android buttons on the steering wheel

I use a second one of the same interfaces to connect to the turn stalk. This give me relay output for the turn signals to trigger the video interface. So when I change lanes the Left or Right camera comes up on the screen.

Cheers

Default Multi media show

As i promise here i have done some work in my entertained system in the str.
My str whas equipment from the factory with : voice, nav, tel, and the big touch screen. No ACM, no blueroof, no sunroof, no homelink.
Cause i am in love with this car i start instaled all of that.

Start with video interfacewhich i bought from Navtool 150$
Navtool interface for jag ,has two RCA inputs for video , one for rear camera, or any other source , but this is working immediatly after i put the shift knob to R and the other for usal video use.
In that module there is not audio interface, you have to connect the audio output in the cars aux ( if you have, i dint).
I tried wit FM modulator , but the result dissapoint me.
So i bought a new one ACM from an english dealer for about 350 $ and i send the audio signal from the Navtool to the ACMs RCA inputs. ( now i have a spare ACM unit for sle , if anyone is interesting.)
Then i bought a dvd/video cd/cd changer.

I drive the RCA video wires fom the 6 disc changer to the video input of the Navtool and the RCA audio wires to the ACMs RCA input. The changer has one spare video and one audio input. In those i connected a TV Box
from Ricomagic.

That cost me about 150$. The AV output of that , i drive it to the spares outputs of the changer to go throu them to the navtool.
The MK80 is a perfect machine , but it is made for home use and in the cars screen was dificult to read the letters and see the icons.

So i download an app from Google play with the name Big launcher and now i have big icons and letters in my screen. ( The quality of the icons is not perfect }.

Also i bought an OBDII Elm bluetooth unit , which i have permanent connected in the car obd input (under the steering) because it has an on/of switch.
The best app from the google play,to see ALL the sensors of the str is Dash Command.

I can see now in the screen whatever i want , even clear the MIL during driving.

Of corse i install a rear camera in the position where was the trunk open switch.

and i am using a small switch unter that to open the trunk.

To work with my touch screen i am using a 2,4 Ghz small wireless mouse.
That is the hard part for me and i am searcing for solution.
Now i have in my screen:
1: rear camera every time i switch the gear knob to R , or continious checking the rear view with a switch.
2: DVD/CD/VIDEO-CD changer with six discs for movies or songs with video.

Media player , playing whatever i want ,KODI, social media, free tv chanels, etc.
3: Internet on the go using the covered arias , or my phone as wifi hotspot.
5: Any app for cars grom the Google play store .
6: Bluetooth paired with OBD , looking in the screen ALL the functions of the car. Now i am to buy a TPMS bluetooth antapter ,to see in screen the four wheels presure and temperature when i am driving.
7: Using the ACM now , instead of the FM modulator, all the sounds are stoped when i have an incomig call.
And of corse all the OEM functions of the car in the screen just pussing a small button near the asstray.

As i wrote in the begining i install a homelink allready and if you want , you can see in this video
,how i add an OEM sunroof on the car.
As i see in an other post Marque describe ,how all those connexions are made, but if i can help anybody, post me. Mike

Default my video multimedia hub install on retrofitted sat/nav

Good stuff mkontos..

I think I'm gonna hold off on the touch screen, bc I was just playing with the screen in general to see how it'd react when touching the screen; there's no way of touching the screen without messing with something else!..

Its not really an issue if you have the OEM screen on "Nav"
You would need to press on the "accept" button anyway after the car is started
If you do and you have nav sound muted it cant have any effect

If you really want the OEM touch disabled break the connections to touch when you are on external video

The pins are TL29-7 & TL29-20 at the nav control module or;
CC12-4 & CC12-15 on the head unit

Cheers

Another thing is Pins
CC12-19,20,21,22 on the head unit or
TL30-1,7,2,8 on the nav

These are the TV audio lines

You can uses these in place of an ACM but you need to be on TV to get the sound
If you use this be aware Touch will be an issue

In TV mode any touch selects the TV menu, if followed by a touch on the lower left corner this will turn off the TV and you loose sound

The issue is an issue if you use Igo navigation on Android. The main menu button is in the same location on most Igo Themes. The simple answer is to move the screen position of the button

You can also easily select the input using voice coomand

Another interesting pins are

Roof Console Mic
TL30-11 - Mic Ground
TL30-6 - Mic Ground

*Note if you have the BUM or Jag Phone the mic is wired in parallel to the phone but this is not shown in the electrical diagram. You can work it out by the pin numbers tough

Another one is TL2-5
The pinouts from Denso (cn100-5) for the Nav show this as "speed"
The pin is wired but not in the electrical diagram

This is on my list to muck around with
I suspect its the trigger for turning on the video in motion stuff (nav address input and dvd disable)
If it comes from the REM CR11-17 that would give you video in motion

CR11-17 on the REM is connected to CR52-6 on the parking aid. Over 15kph it turns on to disable the parking sensor chime.

Ive already combined this signal with my "fan mod" The result being the engine fan comes on full blast when doing less than 15kph. This give me the lowest possible inter-cooler water temp off the line. When I get time Ill also combine the sport mode switch to enable the fan mod rather than using the temp (no semi permanent) fog lamp switch

Cheers
