Navigation DVD Upgrade

RE: Navigation DVD Upgrade
Update on my research. I sent a Jaguar dealer an email on a Sunday asking how much for a new DVD. Instead of a reply, I got a phone call from a salesman (he left a voice mail) telling me "you can call the parts department, but that's really not want you want to do. What you need to do is come in and see me, trade in your 2003 model and buy a new one. That way you get the latest navigation DVD". Jeez!
I found the company that makes the software and you can order updates on their website. http://www.navteq.com/index.html Well, unless you own a Jaguar. Once you fill out the information on the make of your car a message tells you "contact your local Jaguar dealer".
I found a couple of the DVD's on Ebay but they were all the same year or one year apart from mine. One of these days I'll check with the Parts Dept. at the jaguar dealer, but I suspect it is going to be 300 bucks or more and frankly, it's not worth that much to me right now!

RE: Navigation DVD Upgrade
Are you saying that any of the DVD's from that company will work with our Jaguar Navigation system? On that site I saw an update for Acura for $149 but I don't want to spend the $149 only to find out that it won't work. If someone who has both an Acura and Jag with navigation systems, could take the DVD from the Acura and put it in the Jag to see if it works, that would be great.
I have friends with Acuras but none of them have Navigation systems.

To be honest unless you are actually in an area that is changing the street names and adding new freeways you dont need to update at all. You might find that in a few more years an update may be nessissary but for now unless your car has a navigation from 1998 then you might wanna get one off of Ebay that is for the 2001-2003 model. They are the same. If Im not mistaken the 2004 is a different system. If your not certain I would just ask the parts man to see.
