Which in my experience does not work.

I tried copying my 2012 DVD using multiple combinations of copying and burning products with no luck and I tried the .KWI file as well.

I even tried an 2006 DVD and again no luck.

So would be very interested if anyone has had success in the last year or so.

My navigation works fine so did not have an issues to solve.

Maybe a hard reset could help?

You seem to be talking about a different issue, although I could be wrong. There are posts by people with the same issue as the OP & if they followed the clear instructions, it has worked for them.

Are you talking about an upgrade disc you burned & then didn't work ? I burned my own discs to upgrade the satnavs in both my S-types (I had two at the time) & had no fuss.

I have seen where people have stated that copying that .KWI file and loading it can help. Maybe I assumed too much there. I have seen that mentioned several times in m y research.

What copying/burning products did you use?

I know that people who did this way back were successful however using their methods did not work for me.

On later OEM DVDs there are special physical markings which I believe cannot be duplicated easily at all.

I burned one from an image file from the UK forum & the other I copied using the 'Copy Complete Disc' function using an old version of Nero Burning ROM (Nero 7 I think). I used the required full-sized, dual layer discs from a good manufacturer (Verbatim). I burned them as slow as I could. The OS was XP Pro SP3 & a decent CD/DVD writer.

Can these physical markings be read by the DVD player in the car, or is this counterfeit protection ? I think the later ones come with holograms.

Thanks. I think the markings are just there to illuminate the counterfeit sellers.

p.s. It was Nero 6 I used.
