Need Help On Changing Oil - Drain Plug Issue
I was getting ready to change the oil for the 1st time for my 2000 3.0 S-Type but I need some guidance
I have a drain plug a Jag dealer and the part number is: 1x XR8 20128
Note: The new drain plug uses a 13mm socket.
I then went under the Jag to find the drain plug. I thought I found it but the strange thing is that has a 15mm head. I have attached a picture showing what I think is the drain the plug. Another strange thing is that I looked up the Oil Pan in the JTIS manual and I found a picture that looks nothing like what is under my car. So I'm a little confused.
So my question are:
1) For the attached photo, is the location in the red circle the drain plug?
2) Is 1x XR8 20128 the correct drain plug for my 2000 3.0 S-Type?
3) If I have the correct location and the correct plug, could the person that changed the oil last installed a non-standard drain plug with a 15mm head ut with the correct threads?
I just want to make sure I get all the answers before going forward. Thanks in advance for your help.
Sincerely,
Jim
