need some really sound help please,

after collecting the jag from having headgasket replaced i noticed it was loosing coolant, took it back to garage who couldnt find any leaks.

took it back a day later as io noticed this under the car near driver wheel arch
( just behind drivers wheel)

eventually they told me i had a crack in expansion bottle and it was replaced at a cost of £160 and i was told its all fine now.

darren, listen to me...bring that car back and leave it there. Tell them they must find the cause, dry the undercarriage as a means of detecting a future leak when they test it, refund the 160 pounds for the expansion tank, and keep the car for a full day of test drives and at idle, only returning it when it passes inspection. Wanted to say sorry but held back by the fact that many of us here have experienced the same.

Monitor coolant level. Perhaps all is well. Dry underneath, shine an LED flashlight in the engine bay looking for coolant leak from hose, etc. Drive and see if coolant reappears. If no, it's a go, if not, bring it back. You're close to a repair. Hang in there.

Get the garage to add some UV dye to the coolant and wash the engine bay off. Then inspect everything with a black light with the engine running and up to temperature & pressure.

Just PlayIng a waiting game at the moment.
The garage have assured me there is no leak. But they didn't fill me with confidence when he said every car needs topping up sometimes.

We all know the cooling system is sealed and shouldn't loose fluid.

When it was on a ramp today having the exhaust looked at I couldn't see any drips

So fingers crossed.

We're rooting for you, hoping she's sealed. Agree that the shop was trying to pawn off the "Every car must be topped off' ploy.
