Default Need Help Finding a Part

Hello Everyone,

I noticed a small of leak coming from the thermostat housing two days ago and it is now leaking/spraying a lot of coolant. I have been trying to search online but I have gotten nowhere finding this part. The one I have found some sites say it fits and others say it does not. I was able to contact my local Jag deal yesterday and they said that the part had been changed and remanufactured/updated. They wanted $125 for it. Seemed expensive, so I started to look online and by the time I realized I was getting nowhere online, they had closed. I also made the mistake of not getting the new part number. The Jaguar parts catalog I have lists the part number as Housing Assy, Thermostat AJ8009485. Anybody have idea what the new part is? Just in case, I have a 2003 S Type 4.2 NA.

Thanks for all the help

Take a picture of the part - this would help us. If your talking about the thermostat housing assembly - there are aluminum repro's out there. (Not sure if they have them available for 03+) I would go for this option.

Default Bitten Once again by plastic Parts

Logan

Call Welsh Enterprises X162 ask for Boone. He is a long time and knowledgeable Jaguar parts man. He will find you the best solution for your
problem.

A picture would in fact help, but most likely the plastic cooling manifold on the top of the engine is the culprit. Aluminum ones are available for some serial number groups.

Get your engine or chassis number to help with finding the right part.

Tell him I sent you

Cheers Robert Phelps

I went ahead and picked up the part from the dealer. I am going to put it in this weekend. Wish me luck. Thanks for the advice.

Just in case, the new part number is AJ89485. Found it at Jagbits as well but it was more expensive than the dealer. Jaguar THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND OUTLET PIPE - AJ89485

Also, while I was at the dealer, I had the privilege of test driving an XF Supercharged. Words can't describe how much fun that was. I have driven the standard XF and the XJL. This car was a whole new animal. Just amazing......
