Default Need help making a cosmetic decision

I really am torn about where to go with the S type so I thought I'd gather opinions from you discerning folks. I keep going back and forth between chrome or black exterior pieces for my silver S Type. I wouoldn't add a ton of ridiculous crap like some do, just a couple of pieces. The options would basically be:

Black:
Smoke taillights, side reflectors, and side turn indicators. I'm considering black lugs as well but haven't decided if that would be too much

Chrome:
Chrome splitter vein, Chrome mirror covers, chrome foglight surround. I refuse to put chrome door trim, chrome side pillars, etc. on my car as that is just a little too much for me.

Let me know what you think would be best. I would love to get chrome or black wheels to match but, currently, that isn't in the budget after my $1,100 repair bill.

I actually really like that other than the side pillars, which just aren't my thing. You did just convince me that tint is a must now :P

I think you should go with black. I'm a huge fan on monochromatic - looks more European. Look at 03-05 STRs to see how good monochromatic looks (even laters models are mostly monochromatic, though they did add some subtle chrome trim).

Monochromatic looks more menacing.

My Jag is silver though so black won't be a monochromatic look, really mor of a contrasting look.

Black trim on a silver car will just make it look like it has bruises. My vote then is one thats not even one of your options - silver trim!

Post some different pics of the car as it sits now; it will give us a better idea of what would work on your particular S, and even photoshop some ideas for you if you like, or at least give us some details on year, trim, color, current aesthetics, etc

If you're going to go the 'blacked out' look, aka 'murdered out' , I suggest being very very subtle with it. This is a Jag afterall, and its easy to make it look tasteless,

And definitely DO NOT tint the tail lights, that is so annoying to other drivers, and generally looks really really tacky,

The best thing you can do to transform the look of a car is a change of shoes; wheels can make (or break) the car, and really snaz up the car without too much effort,

Is this subtle?

Haha that is definitely not subtle. I'll take some pics of mine this weekend. Its your standard, bone stock, silver Jag. I'm not going for the all black "murdered out" look, as I do think that's kind of ridiculous on this car. Just looking to black out lights really, and maybe a black leaper or something to tie it in. No way I'd ever tint the headlights, that's just retarded.

I'm really looking for an accent to make it stand out rather than completely transform the car. If I do go black I will tint the tails (sorry), but it's a film tint so can be easily removed if it looks like crap or there are any visibility problems.

I really do appreciate the input as I think the car will look good either way so I'm having a tough time deciding.

I'd have a tough time with too much black trim or wheels on silver body. The chrome fits the classiness of the ride far better. Joyce's 05 is a gorgeous example.

Why thank you Sledge! Joyce and I both like the shiny stuff. Best part, if ~ when we sell the vehicle the new owner can remove any and all of the "ridiculous chrome crap" very easily.
