According to consumer reports 1 of the best buys in batteries out there for performance and cost is everstart max from walmart.
So unless you have a stereo system, or like to have music on while you work outside you dont need an optima, if you do use the yellow top thats handle full discharge/recharge cycles.
And yes probobly your battery since when they loose reserve power, if power gets to a certain level while sitting the car wakes up electracally and runs the battery down the rest of the way, everytime a battery is run down it looses approx 50% of reserve power.
oh, and I use the everstart max in my truck with winch, offroad lights, and stereo without issue

Optima batteries are a HUGE waste of money and I should known. I've had a yellow top and two red tops in my Mustang within the past five years, and they all died slowly. I called Optima and their response was their batteries die just like everyone else’s. My response was if they don't last any longer WHY charge three times the price of a normal battery just because it doesn't leak when mounted sideways? I'll never buy another Optima battery.
