Default New bonnet

So I'm considering buying a second hand bonnet to respray and fit to my car. Mine has a fair few stone chips but I don't want to paint it on the car and don't want to have it off the car while I'm painting. Easiest way I thought was to get a second bonnet and swap them. I need to know, will an s type bonnet fit an s type r? Are there any differences? Cheers

Also, mine has the washer jets on the wipers, so none on the bonnet. If I get one with washer jets on the bonnet can I just remove them and cover the holes or do they cause other differences to the bonnet as well?

There are several variations in the bonnet based on VIN and market application. Some markets use the leaper on the bonnet and some do not.

Perhaps the easiest method is to ring a Jaguar agency and provide your VIN so they can determine the correct part number for your car and reference it against the donor vehicle.

May be far easier in the long term to simply have the bonnet on your vehicle repaired and resprayed so colour and everything matches.

I'm thinking it will be easier to have it repaired. I've had a quote for bumper bonnet and wings but it was about 2k. Pretty pricey but I might just have to save up and do it. Worth getting done properly I guess

Would that make a difference when working on it? I think what I've decided to do is pick up any bonnet from a scrapyard and see what my painting skill is like. It's been a little while since I've done any and obviously I would want to get a good finish. Also I want to make sure I can colour match, the paint on mine is 10 years old after all

The front of the car was remodeled in 2005 and changed to aluminium, I doubt an earlier one would fit.

Ok thanks. It's only noticeable that it's got stone chips when you get close but I know they're there so I'd like to do something about them at some point
