New daily means big STR plans

New daily means big STR plans
I have been holding out on taking the Jag down since I really didn't want to daily drive my beater trailblazer. I decide to pull the trigger and get a decent daily so I can go over board on the STR!
Picked up a new GL550 loaded out. 0-60 in 5.9 and the thing will spin all four 21" 295/40/21s all the way through first LOL! Its a beast for what it is and a lot of fun to drive. A pic with it and the jag (its pollen season here in the south and everthing is coated with a yellow haze)
Now the STR is getting pulled down, I am putting the aggressive ported SC on it (I will have mine for sale soon), direct porting the NOS and reworking the alky inj. Adding a new heat exchanger and rear mounted tank to allow for icing at the track and lots of extra volume for cooling on the street, killer chiller and custom long tubes if they get the price where I want it. I am looking into heads and cams but already looks like for the small gains on FI motor it is not going to be worth it cost to power ratio wise. We are talking over doing the LSD swap and just milling the LSD/Housing to make it work, jury is still out until we pull the rear and see how it will look dimensionally but I have a quaif on order now with the understanding if its to much work or wont fit I can return it.
I will make a post with pics and information as we get started. I am next in line for the lift as soon as my shop gets another project finished up in the next two weeks.

My blower on the car now is stock with a milled snout for the 3# pulley. I could get my guy to port it out to once its off, rebuild it like my new one and it would be a quick swap out like what I am doing.

Problem is again the ECU and fuel since if I went that far I would be shooting for 650+ rwhp. To do it right with turbos or turbo to more exact I would double the cost not including a standalone ecu and quadriple yes that's quadriple! the unknown factor and the my car is never going to be done factor. I have done that many times and don't want to go down that path again. What I have planned is mostly bolt on with a touch of fab and a pinch of hope I don't outrun the ecu.
This project wont be to expensive believe it or not. Swaping blowers isn't that bad and I have next to nothing in the spare and porting, the nos system was comped so that is nothing but labor, I bought the killer chiller a while back and I will fab the rear tank myslef.
Lsd, headers and heat exchanger is where I am spending my money. of course it always cost more then you had though

FYI: Avos TWS setup is about 650hp and he claims the ecu and fuel are fine...But yeah, I understand there could be several unknown factors...

I am going with a lower pulley as well if the blower looks to be keeping the heat down. I should be moving more CFM at the same boost just as I have it. If I can keep the heat down I would like to push it to 18-19# of boost since that's about where the 112s seam to run out of efficiency even ported on the other platforms.
It will no question be a learning experience if theory holds hold true in reality. Avos and his information is one of the reasons I know how to approach this. The ECU is so invasive that its meant throwing a lot of common wisdom out the window until I say screw it and pitch the ECU.... which I hope not to do since it appears I may be able to push the limits of it and still get there.
