I would stay away from S-types that old unless you are buying from someone who has done proper
maintenance.

if its equipped with V8. ask if timing chain tensioners have been replaced. if not, look into updating the timing components. the original tensioners were plastic. they would break off, and in turn a chain would break, valves would bend, $5000 (USD) in work would result.
pay attention to how hard it is to shift out of park on an incline. there is an updated gear selector lever to fix that. around $700 (USD) to fix that.
sway bar bushings will make noise. original window regulators break and the window won't go up.
thats all thatimmediately comes to mind

How about post a price, and I'll tell you if it's a steal or not! Check for the wheel bearings! +1 on the window regulator thing that NTI talked about as well as the shifting out of park! Check out the interior, as it's really shabby. The roof cloth tends to fall down on some, and if it's plastic, it can break...so check it! Other than that, if it's 90K km, and not miles, than the car has really good mileage. Still doesn't mean that it may be over-priced!

Stay away from 00. Look for something in the 03-04 range if you can afford the extra cash. The bugs have all been worked out in those years and you should have a very reliable car. 05 and 06 are good years too...but cost too much....

If you looked teh car over real well and it looks good to you, 2000 isn't too old and there's no like garanteed problems. If it looks good to you you should jsut buy, especially with the great milage (Assuming it's a good deal).

But then again your talkin to someone with two used jags that have never had a single problem, so I'm biased.

Although my dad's xk8 check engine light is on

I have an 03 STR with factory 18's and I wouldn't go any bigger (but that's just me) because I like a nice ride. The 18's are a little hard on the bumps but not too bad. 19's or 20's I don't know. I drove a friends G35 sport with 19's on it and it was like driving a truck. My car fells like a Roll's after that. It's not bad in the winter but it is light in the rear end so you have to be carefull.

I just think it looks like a good buy. 90000 KM is what like 50,000 miles, that means your covered for at least like 2-4 years with that warranty. It's a low milage car...sounds good to me.
