New Jaguar Owner
I purchased a used 2001 Jaguar S-type 3.0 in August of 2010. The car has always been a dream vehicle desired by wife. So, we bought her one from one of my customers. We love the way it drives, handles, and looks. However, we are a bit disappointed in the nagging little issues that develop from time to time. I consider my self a do it your-selfer and seldom take my vehicles to a garage unless I don't have the appropriate lift or tools. I have used many of the tips found on this forum to correct problems. Broken tabs on the headlights were fixed with the "single screw method". An air bag fault was stored and displayed in the information panel. I located the issue under the passenger side front seat, straightened a crimped wire and cleaned the connector. The light went off the first time that I started the car. I don not recall the members that posted these suggestions but I am proud to thank them for their advice. This car has become a mechanical challenge for me weekly to fix the little things that show up but so far I have been able to figure them out with the help of this forum. Please keep posting your problems and repairs. Thanks.

Thanks Cadillac for the words of encouragement. I have found information on this forum that 'so called' people in the know were not aware of. I have friend in the used car business that had an air bag problem similiar to one I experienced. It was in a Lincoln LS. I suggested we try the fix that I used and it worked. He wanted to know how I was able to pinpoint the problem. I snickered at first, and then told him, "sometimes its not what you know, but who you know that helps". This forum is great, it helps save "dollars in my pocket to buy fuel for my black onyx rocket".

Thanks for the invitation. I'm starting a new job soon in Knoxville and have no idea when I will be able to go anywhere. I'm getting out of the banking/insurance business and into the automotive business. I hope I have not jumped out of the pan into the fire. The past twenty-two years have created burnout, I needed a change.
By the way my, father-in-law also lives in Crossville. His home is out past Lake Tansi in the O'Henry Place II development. It's currently for sale if you know anyone looking for a great place to live.
