Hello all!!! I'm glad to be a member here. Need A little help with a 2000 Jag S-type I bought about three months ago.
I was feeling a mild shuddering in the car when it's inidoling a few weeks ago. Now I can also feel it while excelerating. Not too bad but it is noticeable. Besides, its a Jag. We all know they shouldn't do that. Also,my engine light came on.Anyway, I took it to a shop to get it checked out and was told that i need to replace two of the ignition coils. (They're bad). But here's the hook. It appears that someone tried to take one of the coils out and failed. Somehow the coil and the connector are stuck together. The coilcan come out of the hole it goes in but it cannot be seperated from the connector. At least that's what the guy told me. The other coil can be replaced without a problem. Long story short, it will cost me $1,100. Wayyyyyyy too much! Something about me having to get a new engine harness installed. But why? Please help!
P.S. Warrenty does not cover this.[sm=boohoo.gif]

MAN! Go tell them to find a cliff and throw themselves off.... No way it should be that much. Go to the dealer, and see what they have to say. Each coil will cost about $70 but don't quote me on it! The should be some remedy to the plug thing. A new wire harness seems a bit harsh! BTW, I can't see how the two would get stuck together!

THANKS!!!!!!!! Good looking out guys!! Vizcarra, if you could help me out I would greatly appreaciate it! I already bought two of the coils from ebay. What I was going to do was take it somewhere else. And if they start trying to hit me with game about needing this and that I, I would just throw the parts I have in their face. All I may need nowisone connector. I'd like toget itjust to be on the safe side. I can't understand how they can be stuck like that.
