Default New S-Type no key

Hi, i have a 05 S-type with no keys. All keys are lost. I want to make a new key myself because we have no Jaguar dealers where i live. Has anyone actually done this? A SuperOBD SKP-100 Jaguar Remote Key and Smart Key Programmer seems to be what i need. I could order a pre-cut key from a dealer i guess or could a used key also work? Would it have to come with ignition and barrel or will mine do?

Thanks in advance for thinking with me.
Ps looking for a 2.7d transmission also

It may claim to work but fail and is expensive - a lot more than the cost of transporting a car to someone with the correct tool.

I have been told that you can ask jaguar for the tibbe code for your car. They just need the vin.

If you have anybody near you with a working mongoose and jaguar Sdd program. They can program two new keys for you.

you can buy the key fobs on ebay which are a lot cheaper than going to the dealership or Google replacement key fob. There are a few locksmiths who are offering the service of selling new key fobs with the key cut to the code.

I am looking into this Mongoose thing you are saying and i am very interested. There seem to have been some sellers which were selling chinese cable for like £50. I can't find those anywhere. I did find another cable though which might work.

Has anyone tried this one?

Silca SBB will program keys but not remotes.

Autokey Diagnostics MVP System will program remotes.
(I just did one on my car, it took about 2 minutes & requires a working key.)

Also, for reference:
Buttons on the remotes can eventually fail, but they can be replaced. It requires an SMD solder rework station, the skill to use it, and these parts:

30Pcs Car Keyless Entry Control Fob Momentary Micro Switch Series 5x5x1.5mm

Yes, that's 87 cents for 30 button switches.

Also from a US seller:
Keyless Entry Remote Fob Momentary Micro Tactile Switch 5x5x1.5mm 30 pieces

I don't know. I don't have a 2005 to try it on. I have a Silca SBB and several Texas 4D 60 transponder chips. If there is someone in the SLC, UT area with a 2005 who would be willing, I could try.

A T300 key programmer seems to do the job as well, but i'm going to try Jaguar SDD. I'm still looking for the best deal on that.

If you go to this thread you can get a copy of SDD program v1.30. This version is clean of viruses, it has been found that the version that comes with the mongoose from China has one.

I know a person who has used it to program the keys for his x type. You have to have at least two keys when you do it

The price is alright. Did you get two keys if so it was a bargain cost me about the same for one to be cloned from the other.
