Default new wheels

As i have not found a replacement original Zeus (paint silver 18 x 8 front) I saw a set of wheels and tires from an 2011 XJ they are front 245/45 19" and rear 275/40 19" I believe these will fit but in my tire size research- they will be 2" bigger in diameter raising the car 1" --this does not seem good to me but they are a deal at $795 set with good tires! How much of a problem is the ride height?

The max you ever want to increase diameter is about an inch. You will have clearance problems elsewhere when turning or hitting bumps. Those tires are too large for this platform car.

One other thing to think about when buying wheels is offset
the S-Type uses an offset of -60mm,so if the new wheels are wider and they sit further in you risk rubbing on suspension components, clashing with brake discs, and either more or less offset can result in the edges of the tyres rubbing on the inside of the wheel arches when steering lock is applied, Lastly, changing offset will affect the self-centring properties of the steering slightly. If it's a small difference that won't be a problem, but large changes in offset should be avoided as the car could become somewhere between a complete pig and dangerous to drive, I think the XJ offset is Offset: 35 to 45 mm

Isn't the S-Tpe a positive offset i.e. +60 rather than -60?

Here is a link to information I recently posted on S-type tire sizes, diameters and offsets.

Forgot to add.

If the rims fit, you could buy the wheel, sell the tires that came with the wheels, then purchase a new set of tires with the correct profile.
