Default New Wheels, and a smooth driving car.. Finally!

So some of you have read through my saga of the broken lug nut, a destroyed stock wheel, my aftermarket 19's that caused a steering shake (even after a different set of tires), a replacement stock wheel etc...

So I found a set of Staggered 18" Vulcans off of a 2006 STR for a very reasonable price, with nearly new tires.

Took the plunge and got them in the mail the other day.

I bolted them on after work today. Looks great, drives as smooth as the stock 16" (if not better). I'm FINALLY happy with both the wheels (from an aesthetic perspective) and the way the car drives. Whoever spec'd the stock 16's for an S-type should be shot lol.

And I know I need to order a set of center caps... Will all the modern Jaguar caps fit all the wheels? Or are the caps wheel specific?

Here's a couple quick blackberry pics.

Lookin good androulakis and glad you got your probs all ironed out
Personally I agreee with the statement on the stock 16's....way too small for that car!
You gonna sell your 19's on and get a few $$$ back?

George, wheel center caps are one of the few interchangeable parts. By the way, NICE WHEELS! Those look great.

WoooHooo! Glad it's sorted... May I suggest the "heritage" center caps I got for mine? They are a real steal from the dealer and look neat on the S. They will fit your wheels as well.

Congrats on finally getting your tire-and-wheel issue resolved. Hope that you can recoup some of your financial losses in the process....

Now, how about sending your rainstorms this way? We really need it....

Looks fantastic, I love the Vulcans. Personally, I would just go with a red, green or black growler for center caps. This was out of the blue!!! You were sneaking around looking at new rims without informing us!? The nerve.......

Lol.. I actually did mention it kind of randomly, but I think it's buried in a thread about something else. I think I want the new black growler caps with the "jaguar" script on them. I'm stalking a set on ebay. I also picked up an original whole Jag chrome mesh grille assembly for my S, got the whole thing OEM, (not the insert) for $122 shipped on ebay.

I think the type R rear spoiler, and window tints are next.

Just so there are no surprises as things pop up..

I have the silver growler caps on my S type. Here's what they look like for a comparison...

(and disregard the wheel weight - it's moving to the inside shortly . Was like that when I bought her)

Cheers!
Rob

Those would look really sweet on a black S. A few months back I saw a pearl set on Ebag for $90.00, I wanted them badly but I couldn't justify the cashola'
