Unbelievable, a month after i paid 29k for mine with 12k miles on it and its the exact same car and specs. Always something!

When I was looking (not all that long ago) I saw plenty just like this. I don't find that price terribly great. Yes it's two years newer with 9K less miles than mine but its also 11.5K more money!
This car isn't even loaded.
I found a lot of Jag dealer utilized lower mileage cars all the way back to the 2003MY. They're all nice irrespective of the MY but I decided to focus on an 05 because I wanted the Brembos and the newer gauges.
I had originally wanted an 03 with low miles because it was such a better deal but the two deals I worked on just fell apart. The sellers were flakes.
The cars were in the low teens and one had 11K miles on it and had been on a select edition warranty (expired of course) so it was a decent car.

A deal only if you look at it in original pricing terms. The over priced options like ACC, bluetooth, phone, NAV, Voice etc. tend to retain a much smaller portion of their value in resale. Of course trying to add those options even if it's technically possible to a used car is a financial disaster.
I like my recent purchase of the STR but I have to say that I'd never have paid the sticker price for it. It wasn't a very good deal back then. By 2005 it was already technologically old. It was fast as hell and less money that a M5. In that "sense" it was a deal. But I don't buy a car with a one dimensional approach.
I also don't find the interior very compelling. It's OK and while some things seem fairly solidly built I can't say that the interior materials are any better than my 2001 Sable wagon which was $21K out the door fully loaded. It's got an inexpensive grade of leather for the seating surfaces. Everything else is vinyl and plastic. The XJR is more traditional Jaguar materials. I've seen this model fitted with some of the two tone and metal trim pieces which I found made the car more compelling as a sports sedan and not as boring inside but those were very hard to find. Jaguar should have showed some marketing ***** and pre-ordered more of those. They weren't nearly as adventurous as Audi, BMW or even Infiniti in that regard.
But that's just on the interior. The chassis and drive-train are several notches better of course. A different universe really. That's why I bought it.
But most of the cars other systems are actually quite comparable to my Sable. Moon roof, Stereo CD player, power windows, seat adjustability (no power head rests) adjustable pedals etc. The AC on the Sable is superior in really hot weather.
So $68-70K when new. Naw, not me.
