Default Nickli ?

Does anyone know what years that they stopped using that nickel stuff in the cylinders? I ask because I want to buy a spare motor in case my current one doesn't hold up. Thanks in advance.

It's a date - and it must be the one on the actual engine, not the rest of the car.

Can't recall it - something like 18 aug 2000 - but Search will find it.

Better question: Why do you care? Any engine that's survived this long is unlikely an issue due to nikasil.

It MAY WELL be an issue due to tensioners etc!!

Thanks bro. I didnt know how to find out. Ive had 2 jags and 1 LS that had piston issues so I'm just trying to cover my butt this time. Next question is if the supercharger from the S Type R will fit on this lincoln 3.9?

If memory serves, the heads are different on the Ford 3.9 litre variant of the AJV8 so the inlet manifold bolt holes are in different places.

The compression will be all wrong, too.
