Default No EGR on an '02 3.0L Jaguar?

When I was taking the intake manifold (plenum) off of the engine to get at the coils and plugs on the right side, one of the steps listed in the JTIS and the AllDataDIY files was to remove the EGR.

So I bought an EGR gasket so I could replace it when I put it back on... As I was going through... I found that there is no EGR on the plenum on my '02 3.0L V6 Jaguar engine.

There is an aluminum plate that looks to be factory that covers the mounting hole where the EGR would be.

Does your 3.0L of a similar year have the EGR or not? Curious!

(Techs got any clues? Please!)

No EGR from the factory on that year. And JTIS sucks. Always has, always will. They updated that JTIS about 5 times a day it seemed, and they still could never get it right.

So what would you use instead of JTIS, please?

Thanks PoBoyBlues. I suspected as much. The AllDataDIY files seem to be direct copies of the JTIS too. Images are exact replicas...

I, for one, am very glad you are here! Thanks again for your willingness to help!

As I recall, AllDataDIY numbers the cylinders differently to Jag

Jag's OBD will use Jag's numbers, I'd think!

The pictures posted in another thread "have them numbered differently", but if you read the legend on the AllDataDIY figure, they are actually saying the same thing... One is "firing order" and one is "cylinder number" as I recall. Once I figured out what the system was in the AllData figure the meaning was the same... just saying the same thing two different ways.

Sorry to sound like that, my friend. I didn't use JTIS when it was alive, I just figured it out on my own being at the dealer and all. I have been to so many classes, and read so many TSBs, and we had all the info in our class books as well some of it was it TSBs. JTIS was never popular at our dealer. I've used it maybe 10 times total, if that. Now we use GTR, which the public can access, but you have to pay for it. Now I do use GTR because we've been forced to....no paper anymore from our classes, and TSBs are all on line. If we want a paper copy, we gotta do it ourselves. For straight R/R of parts I still just figure it out on my own. It's a talent, I guess, or many years of experience with Jaguar.

Thanks. So if you want to know what the latest calibration is, do you go hunting on GTR?

Do you have the dealer tool (IDS/WDS) and is that information in it?

If you wanted a wiring diagram for a later car than is in JTIS (the diesel, perhaps), where do you go?

jagv8, they have it all on GTR. Check it out. It may be worth it to pay for it.
