Default No Heat

Recently changed battery and have encountered several issues after installation. Most have been corrected. Two lingering issues are 1) No heat coming thru blowing fan and 2) Temp gauge periodically swings to Hot and then settles back down to Normal running temp. I have noticed the cooling fan comes on and stays on after the engine is turned off.

Cooling module fan running after engine is shut off usually indicates a sticking or failed thermostat.

For issues with the heater not functioning correctly, read through this thread that Karl (kr98664) developed for a step by step diagnosis:

Welcome to the forum.

A little history might help. Any other recent work besides changing the battery? What led you to replace the battery?

Daily driver? Garage queen? First time starting a derelict project car dragged out of a field?

Shoe size? Favorite color? Ginger or MaryAnn?

Glad to share some history. I bought the car 3 years ago as a non-running 1-owner car w/111k miles for $500.00. Engine was shot after running with timing chain/tensioner problems. Replaced the motor with a used motor from an insurance scrapper with 55k miles on it. Replaced various front and rear suspension pieces and the passenger side window control unit. Most annoying problem was the replacement of the ignition switch which had been the source of frequently draining the battery. Most of the repairs have been done by my mechanic. The car sits outside and 3 Winters took their toll on a battery with a 3yr warranty. I bought the car because the design always reminded me of a Mark 1, a car which is out of my price range. I have enjoyed driving the car, but like all older cars (and people) it does require patience knowing a repair is just around the corner. It is my curse to be drawn to older cars (I've owned several) but fortunately I have been blessed to be able to afford to repair them and blessed with a wife that indulges me.
