Default O2 sensors s type v6

I have replaced the down stream sensor, bank 2 with a universal sensor which seemed to solve the fault code problem. I then had the upstream fault code come up. I replaced with another universal sensor of the same type but this has not worked and I still get the fault code. Is the upstream sensor a different type of sensor to the downstream sensor?

Yes - big difference between upstream and downstream, do yourself a favor and please buy Direct Fit O2 sensors w/ harness - those universal O2 sensors suck.

May have caused damage by fitting the wrong one - say your prayers!

Yes it matters!

Please listen to abonano. Use the correct part only. You are just creating problems for no reason.

O2 sensors have a lifespan. Don't put a used one in they are not that expensive or hard to get.

Well I seem to have solved my 02 seņor problems at last and now have no engine light on. My conclusion is that universal sensors work on the downstream but not on the upstream. I still have my handbrake Warning message on so that is the next problem. The handbrake works fine and passed it mot, it is just the annoying orange light and warning message keeps coming up. Thanks for all the advice everybody.
