Default OBD ELM327 bluetooth issue with STR 2003

Hello!

I just bought an OBDII bluetooth reader and immediately run into prolems with it. The car is S-Type R 2003.

Here is a similar adapter.
Super Mini ELM327 V1 5 OBD2 OBDII Bluetooth Adapter Auto Scanner Torque Android | eBay

So what happened : I started the car and connected the adapter and started torque from my tablet.. FIrst I didnt get any readings to my tablet but then suddenly it started working after few minutes...

After driving I left the adapter into the OBD port and when I came back to the car after 40 min and the car didnt start at all. I just got ABS sensor, gearbox failure, hand brake failures etc... SO pretty much all possible failures and nothing happened when turning the ignition and trying to start the car.. even the start motor didnt work..

After I finally removed this adapter the car started normally and the engine light was still on. The I tried again connecting this adapter and after few minutes I got again all the errors and lost all gauge readings from the dash.. Everything kind of went black and disappeared...

Any ideas how to get this adapter work properly? Has someone had similar issues?

Mine works great on my 2005 STR but we need to remember that the ELM327 is a cheap piece of Chinese junk. So you could have gotten a bad one. They are so cheap maybe just buy another one on EBay from a different vendor?

I have the wired, BT and Wi-Fi versions and all of them work and were very cheap to buy. But I use ScanXL software and I don't know if that makes a difference or not?

One other thing is I never use or even put in the disc that comes with the ELM327. Not sure how safe that would be. I have never had any driver problems on any of the 3 adapters.

Thanks for your reply! I contacted the seller and without asking he sent me a new one lets see how that works.. Is there a stock air intake temperature after the IC's? I want to log some temperatures in full throttle situations before going for twin screw and other mods..

Btw. Just dynoed the car and the results was 338 ehp...173 tkm driven engine..
