Default Oil Change/Fill Up

Ok so changed my oil on 2000-S Type-3.0-V6. I added 5 quarts but read through posts and see that I am supposed to add 7 quarts total. Is that correct? I know I can just check dipstick, but would like confirmation that 7 is lucky number.

Checking the level is the way to go - weekly and before any long trips.

OK so with oil change and filter it is 6.5 liters, about 6.86+ quarts. Just in case anyone else wanted to know. That is for 3.0 engine.

I use 7 quarts, fill new filter with oil, and the dipstick shows the right level

The previous owner of my 2000 3.0 kept everything including a supplement to the original owner’s manual. Sure enough the supplement advises to use more US quarts than the original manual. It also has update torque specs for those wonderful 2 piece lug nuts.

I always use enough US quarts to reach the full mark on the dipstick.

I've tried to find metric quarts but no luck so far.

Oddly there are also quarts (aka imperial quarts).

Are they more metric than the US ones?

We're closer to France, so maybe they are.
