Nothing prettier than a DOHC engine, to me.

Yep.

I usually crack a new large JD when I see these "War and Peace" sized threads start.

I put in k&n's oil filter for the first time a few months ago and noticed a few drop of oil on the driveway, I reached under and felt the oil filter had somehow worked itself loose

You can reach your filter without jacking up the car and removing the belly pan?

I always use the Jaguar oil filter, can be bought online much cheaper than dealer prices. I use Comma X-tech fully synth engine oil every time and every 10k miles. I checked the oil last week and after 6k miles since changed its still looking golden coloured and clear.

I just purchased a Royal Purple filter and Castrol Edge 5w30
with the strength to enable an extended drain interval of up to 15,000 miles. Independent testing has proven EDGE Extended Performance stronger than Mobil 1 Extended Performance against viscosity breakdown – the ultimate test of strength.
for my 2009 XF 4.2l and a Royal Purple filter and Castrol GTX 5w30
Castrol® GTX® High Mileage™ 5W-30 - the #1 High Mileage brand - is a premium synthetic blend motor oil specifically formulated for vehicles with over 75,000 miles.
for my 2002 S-Type 4.0l.
