Default Okay, the saga continues... still no car... brake shimmy....

So for those of you that don't know, my girlfriend did some suspension damage to my car hitting the side barrier of a freeway. The car was aligned, repaired, ect. I spoke to the guy who test drove it today before delivery and he said that the car had a serious brake "shimmy" when going down hill.

It never had that before the accident and they replaced all the damaged parts. Anyone know what causes that or what it's related to?

Sorry to say this but sounds like they didn't find/replace all the damaged parts. Something's bent or moved?

I know. It does sound like something is still screwed up. The weird thing is it only really occurs under braking from what I've heard. I haven't personally driven the car yet

brake rotor? it may not be true anymore. a possible sticking piston in a caliper or its worn out and not making contact with the pad very well causing the pad to "skew" the steering wobble is noticable under hard braking.

update.... i drove the car today and it felt fine. I don't know if the condition was still there or what..

On a different note, the 285 rear tire with my new wheels is hitting the fender lip. I need to go back to 275's. I don't know if I want to hassle with them messing with the lips on a freshly painted ride. The car looks pretty sweet even though it's not back together 100% yet. Pics to come Tuesday or Wednesday.
