One electrochromic mirror does not sync always
I just started to notice that one of my electrochromic mirror does not sycn as soon and as fast as the driver side door mirror does. I took it to the dealer and they said everything is fine but if I am not happy they will be happy to replace it for $575+ Labor.
It does work but the only thing is that it takes too long to dim, if the light falls on the mirror long enough it starts to dim otherwise not, and sometimes if i go over the bump or something it accelerates the dimming process.
I have found an OEM replacement glass for $70 so my question what do you guys think this problem might be associated with, some wiring loose or need a new mirror.
I know that most of the guys here are more knowledgeable and more first hand experience and I sure enough do not want to shell out almost $700 just for one mirror just so that it will dim, I am OK with $150 with everything though.
Thank you.

The light falling on it isn't how it works - at least, as I understand it there's a sensor elsewhere that controls all the dimming. Just one sensor, I think - but not sure about that as I've not looked. It'll be shown in the circuit diagrams here http://www.captainjaguarscathouse.co..._Reference.htm
If I'm right how it works, it could be the glass (slow to react) or the wiring/connectors to it (poor signal getting through). You can probably buy an entire door mirror for $70 off ebay, btw.

When it dims is the top of the mirror a lighter color then the bottom? Notice any fluid in the housing? You might leaking mirror fluid (yea I know it sounds funny).
The mirror is the lower pane electrochromatic sensitive fluid is poured on, then a clear pane with thin wires to pass current through the fluid which excites electrons causing te fluid to darken. And voilà that's how most work, I'm not sure how the jaguar ones work but should be the same.

well looks like the sensor is in the rear view mirror inside cabin, so the sensor is working because the rear view mirror and the driver side mirror dims without any delay.
and i couldnot see any fluids leaking either. and when it is dim the dimness is evenly layed out in the whole mirror.
so if I just buy a glass for the mirror that wouldnot come with the inside wirings would it?

For some weird reason now it just works and is as instant as the rearview mirror and drivers side mirror. Very odd, but also will take it to the dealer and get it checked out one more time, since I started to hear a little rattle from my dash when I go over a bump or so, anybody knows about this issue? also there is a slight hairline shake in a steering wheel.
Thanks boys.
