Cool One helluva project...2000 S-Type

So I thought I would go on ahead and start a thread here because this will be a long project that could help others out as I work through it.

Here is the beginning of my tale:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=39537

Here are some more before pics of the car:

This is before I did anything at all to the vehicle. Dirty, huh?
-----------------------------------------------------------
So I have had this car for about 2 weeks now and I finally have the majority of the issues accounted for.

I did find out that the Cross Member [aka Subframe] will cause for the engine to be suspended while I redo the front end. As costly as this will be, I actually gain solace from the fact that when its road-ready that the front end will be in tip-top shape.

As I have stated before, all of the electrical components on it work, [e.g. sunroof, windows, and the vehicle cranks]. However, the battery is bad ran out on me yesterday so I need to get another.

Also, until my girlfriend finds where she hide the camera charger from herself at, I won't be able to post any more pics of the vehicle right now with the front bumper & Driver's side Fender removed. I plan on dropping the front suspension out this weekend.

Just wanted to add that this Forum ROCKS!!! Everyone is so helpful and most importantly paitent.

That looks like a major undertaking. Hope the project comes in under budget for you once you have everything wrapped up and ready to roll....

Default UPDATE: Disassembled

So I got the oil pan, cross member and r n' p taken off this weekend. Wasn't as bad as what I thought it would be. Most of the bolts and nuts are metric size and not a lot of switching back n forth.

Here's a shot of the 3 damaged pieces:

And here's a shot of the underbelly of the engine block:

You can see I left the air compressor {top-left side of pic} & Altenator {right side of pic behind the exhaust} attached and was still able to drop the oil pan!!!! There were only 2 bolts on the bottom of each unit that I had to undo and then just loosened the top ones [1 for the altenator and 2 for the compressor]

And my engine support is working just fine so far!!

Now the best part is I now have access to alldata pro!!!!!

Can't wait to get home and figure it out!!!!
So now I am just sitting back and waiting on my parts to arrive!

Anyone got a suggestion on the best place to get a Remote Key Fob for this bad boy???

Thanks again for all the input and for letting me participate.

I would say you can contact our vendors first about keyfobs

NALLEY , JPAM

or
www.motorcarsltd.com

www.jagbits.com

Those are reliable sources if not then your route should be ebay
Hope this helps
