Default oo stype heater control valve

cant find good info on how it operates , good voltage on the center wire red and no change(ground) on other two when changing from hot to cold on both drivers and pass sides . cant decide if the heater control valve or control is my problem. car came in with an a/c problem no cool air another shop replaced compresor and way over charged system evac and recharge now we have great condensation but 100+ deg drivers side and 85ish pass .
temps go much cooler when pinch off heater hoses

Keep reading - the info's on here.

But from those values looks like the control module's not working - or bad fuse/relay.

sorry just learning how this site works . 00 S-type 3.0 liter with 113000 miles, the voltage reading i took were with control valve disconnected. realy not sure how valve is controled , is it supplied voltage or ground and is the control module part of the control head in the dash????????

It's well described in previous posts (which is why the FAQs and Search exist) but basically the module changes the voltage on each of the outer pins of the valve (which of course needs to be connected) as you change the heat settings for L & R. If the voltages don't change then either the module is faulty (most likely) or an input to it makes it think it doesn't need to change the output.

You do know the CCM is repairable and much cheaper than new??

The current drain could be one of several things. First fix what you have found then check for voltage drain. Possible REM (Rear Electronics Module).

it is a 001 suffix, this is what you need for a direct replacement. A new 1 will work, but theyre programmed for right hand drive from the uk, so it will have to be programmed or configured to us standards. Or they can live with it working opposite. The passenger temp controls are the primary control and the drivers side are secondary. To go to max cold or hot you will have to operate the temp controls on the passenger side of the faceplate. Or you can repair the circuit board like discussed already since you see where the open burned circuit is at. And replace the heater control valve
