Overheated and now won't start..... Lawd help me lol
Ok so I'm driving home, and car starts running hot so I pulled over to let it cool down. This hadn't happen before do I figured ok I'll let it cool down and then try and go again. So I waited for it to cool down and started her back up. We went for a few feet then she shut down. I popped the hood and no coolant was in the car so I filled it up and waited a bit and then attempted to go again but to no avail. So 6hrs later I tried to start it, it turned on for a bit but quickly died off. At this time all it's doin is acting like it wants to turn on but won't. I didn't try and crank it too much in fear of doin damage/more damage to the engine. I'm about to have it towed to a shop but any insight before it gets there would b nice. Thanks in advance.

I talked to my wife and she just told me it overheated for her on Sunday and she said she poured coolant in and it drained rt out but today when I poured water in it no leaks....I dunno and she barely told me
Cuz she didn't want to get blamed for any problem
Because every time she drives my car something happens lol.

If their really are no leaks it may be a head gasket Check for water in your oil. Just shooting in the dark.

Ok so it's started up but sounds like it's putting (putt putt putt) as long as gas is applied it's ok but as soon as it seems like it's gonna idle below 1000 it acts like it wants to die... Rt now we r just letting it run...kinda sounds like isht.... No smoke coming from n e where but it's soundsinh real choppy and the temp Gage is staying on

I posted this before the puttering comment. May need to look into that first.
Fill it up and let it run to operating temperature then check for leaks. The leak may be in a part of the system that is still empty due to the thermostat not being open. So I would let it idle and work up to operating temp and just watch for leaks. Worse case if its a warped head thats leaking only when hot you would be able to see that. But once you catch the leak then I would shut down right away so to not cause more damage then assess.

I'm about to just have it towed to a shop and let them check it out and let me know the damage ($$$$).
I think she's just mad at me because she heard I was gonna sell her lol

You didn't say that. That changes everything. She is just mad at you then. Reassure her that your keeping her and she will go back to running normal again. LOL. Kidding dont take this advice.

FYI for future, Coolant should NEVER not be there. If you have to add some, you’re leaking somewhere. Find leak ASAP.

It's possible you have blown a head gasket if you ran it too hot. If it won't crank it could be hydraulic'd. Until you pull the head or do a compression check you could just be doing more damage.
Check your overflow jug. Mine developed a crack and was leaking fluid. My low coolant light kept coming on and I kept topping it off. I finally found the crack and fixed it. Tell your wife those "idiot lights" are not to be ignored!!! Mucho damago can occur when they are ignored.
I'm surprised that you see no water in the oil. It's not milky at all? If so you may have dodged the proverbial bullet. But you still need to find where the coolant is going when you pour it in and it "disappears".
Good luck and let us know the outcome!
