Default P0304 Misfire

I posted in an earlier thread I was suffering from erratic idle, and stumbling acceleration, well the Check Engine Light finally came on, P0304. Misfire in cylinder 4, so my question is (don't laugh) which side is cylinder 4 on, drivers or passenger? I figure I need to check/change the coil or plug right?

Standing in front of car and looking back at windshield - starting from front: 1,2,3,4 on the right and 5,6,7,8 on the left.

This was found through google so I'm not positive that I'm correct. Hope it helps

I'm hoping someone comes along with better knowledge than us google warriors lol. Here is one with a diagram I've found this one a few times but it really doesn't seem to be of much help since it lists 2 cylinder 4's

think Uk where they drive on the "other" side of the car so thats how theyre numbered. US left hand drive #4 is back right passenger side, when you see 2 1-4numbering A bank is the passenger side on US cars, B bank driver so 1-4 on the pass side front to rear, and 5-8 drivers side front to rear. same with all bank numbering. the predominate bank is A or 1, and always on the passenger side for US, its the DRIVERS side(right hand) for UK are you confused now

Yup completely

Actually no it makes sense I just wasn't sure which bank was the 1-4 and 5-8 your explanation clears that up.

Brutal, Little off topic but I really like the rims on your Jag those look awesome on it don't suppose they fit a xj40? If so what year did you get those off of?

Being a Limey living in the US that all makes sense, or as we say it... eighteen pence. Outstanding, #4 or 1-4 last cylinder at the back passenger side (US) looking at the engine from the front. Now I've just got to figure how to get at the coil, cheers fellas... Happy New Year!

Straight out of the JTIS, if you would like a copy of the JTIS Program pm Christo and he'll hook you up with the download link. It has all the fun info on your Jag.

Thank you, didn't realize I had to take the whole cover off, thought the smaller one would do it... oh well.
