P0401 - S type 2000 3.0 v6
Hello Guys, I really need your input on this.
A year ago, i had one of the cylinders misfiring, i kept driving my car with this for months only to make it worse. The errors at that time were P0301, P0401, P0420. I eventually changed the coils and plugs and the car was fine but then i had to replace the catalytic converter on the passenger side due to my stupid actions of driving the car with misfire.
A year later now, everything is fine except my car is still showing error P0401, which means insufficient EGR flow, its the same error popped in a year back and its still on. but since i was busy and car was running fine i was just erasing it from the computer every now and then whenever it would appear again.
But last week i bought some electric cleaner and sprayed it into the EGR valve. Unfortunately that did not solve the problem.
Now i have told you everything. What do you think i could do to overcome this error?
Thanks in Advance !

If you have an early vehicle, the EGR is connected to the inlet manifold above the RH cam cover. Remove the EGR valve and see if the passages are blocked with carbon. Also, make sure the vacuum hose going to the EGR valve is connected and the fitting tight. Check the other vacuum hoses at the regulator as well.
