Default P1000 Code Help

I have a P1000 code on my S-Type that I can not clear with my new scan tool. It keeps coming back. The scan tool does not list any info about this code. Does anyone here know what it is?

Thanks!

Ignore it. After a few ignition cycles it'll change to P1111. It's nothing to worry about.
You will always have a P1000 or P1111, it's normal.

P1000 means your OBD II emissions check cycle is not complete (mis fire monitor, evap monitor, O2 sensor monitors, etc...) This code comes up when resetting the OBD II computer when erasing stored codes - sometimes when even changing the battery.

This is NORMAL!

Do not get your vehicle inspected with a P1000 - you will fail emissions testing due to the monitors being "not ready".

Drive your vehicle in various driving conditions - typically 150 - 200 miles of highway/city/everyday driving will be enough to set all your monitors to ready status. Keep in mind the evap monitor is the toughest to set but normal driving will set that monitor too.

Once all monitors are "ready" you should pull up a code P1111

Hope this helps!

In case it doesn't change to P1111 you will need to find why.

Thanks Gus. I appreciate the link.

The P1000 code is gone. I have P1111. Looks like all is well after a little drive time.

Thanks.
