Parking Brake Oddity?

While I wait for the dealer to get back to me on the AC compressor, another problem has come up a few times.
While I was starting the engine there was a strange noise like metal rubbing on metal for a fraction of a second and the parking brake remained on.
This has happened about 1 start in 10. Turning off the ignition, locking the car and unlocking the car unlocks the parking brake.
Any ideas anyone?

The second link in that post sends you here, which has pretty pictures of the innards of the actuator:

You may find the rest of the first thread of interest, if you care to start from the beginning.

Not the same as anything here. I can't normally hear the park brake operation, I can feel it on the brake pedal.
Tomorrow I will take my i930 and see if it plays up again, Cooler weather forecast in the next few days so a look under the rear
end may be in order. will post what I find.
Btw did a silly thing today put some diesel cleaning stuff in the last 25 litres in the tank. Only cost 9E. Unbelievable after only
5 mins there was a big difference in smoothness overall and no hesitation between 1800-2200 rpm. I didn't believe this stuff worked
but the dealer was very insistent that I try it. Tomorrow I will do a few Ks and see if it is still the same either way.
