Default Parking Sensor Replacement?

I have seen it alluded to that once identified, the offending sensor can be replaced without removing the bumper. How? My outboard drivers side sensor has failed. 2000 4.0 S-Type.

Get on your back and hope your arms are thin and flexible. Your feeling to get the connector off then the tabs to get the sensor out.

Not hard to drop the rear bumper.
