Default Part number

I’m bit confused on this RCCM part number: jaguar 6R8318C612CA

this is the part number for the RCCM, but everytime I look it up it brings up the part for the actual climate control with the no nav screen…

I cannot find this part number itself to purchase another part

Those aren't really part numbers and I don't know why but they never put the part number on the part?
But again we need the last 6 digits of your VIN to verify the parts?
Since you list a 2006 STR that is a late model STR so a higher VIN.
The RCCM for some VIN's?

Also this is in J-Part which is free and available on this site? Well worth getting and installing to answer just these sort of questions?

Can you post back which RCCM your car needs?
If your cars VIN is not in the ranges I posted there are several other RCCM part numbers.
Now I can't say how different they all are or if they are interchangeable as it seems there is a big list of part numbers for the same part?

One last idea? This is a common problem and there are aftermarket companies repairing and adding circuit protection to stop this from happening again if you have another DCCV failure.
If you have not seen this website it's well worth reading all he has posted about the AC system. Note I have NOT used his repair service!
Jaguar AC Repair
I post this because with all the running part number changes that Jaguar does repairing your OEM module at least guarantee's the module is the right one for your car.

The tale gets a bit convoluted because in this new present thread, some important details from the original thread got lost:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ontrol-275860/

OP wasn't experiencing the typical "burnt trace" failure of the circuit board, caused by a bad DCCV drawing too much power. He was getting a code U0164: (Lost Communication With HVAC Control Module) and no heating, cooling, or anything. If the module is getting proper power and ground, it's likely a failed module, which is why he was searching for a replacement.

So while that repair outfit you suggested comes highly recommended, I think his services are limited to repairing damage caused by a bad DCCV, including an upgrade to prevent a repeat occurrence. I don't believe he offers for repairs for other failures. One could try contacting him and asking. If he doesn't do it himself, he may know somebody who can.

Part number I would need that falls under my VIN is XR849682.

And kr98664 explained it perfectly, my issue is something I have not seen anywhere else on the forums, I don’t know if anyone has had this code pop up. I am getting power to the connector and feel like the module is dead. Opening up the module everything looks perfect and brand new. No signs of fault present inside at all. I reached out to some company’s and all they deal with is fixing bad connections caused by a bad dccv so there’s no help for me.

Yes I see that's a different and total failure of the module.
I do see this one but it's expensive? Jagbits lists it as rebuilt? I would contact them to see if they will look at yours?
Jaguar RCCM Rebuilt

Note it appears that XR849682 has been superseded by XR856428. That is in stock but at 913 GBP is expensive!

Perfect, thank you for the part numbers and the updated parts. I ordered a replacement from eBay.co.uk just now so it’ll take a bit to reach here in the states. Let’s see what happens

That was a great find!
Congratulations! Sometimes a used part is the way to go. Hope it fixes things too.

The RCCM was faulty, the replacement is in and works good. Cold a/c and hot heat. Only issue I see now is that when I turn on defrost it’ll blow hard, when I turn on foot it’ll blow hard but when I click face it’ll just be stuck on foot…

okay so that will be this one
XR8 57887 ...............Instrument panel blend door actuator

where is this one located? I’m confused because the one behind the instrument panel is the one for defrost? Everything else works perfect besides “face”

There is a reset procedure?
Might give it a try? Not sure it will do anything but it is free and easy to try.
Reset Blend Doors

Attached is a TSB on the 4 different blend doors and it looks like you do have the right part number.
The foot well blend door is XR8 57886. Maybe this one instead?

Be sure and check using the last 6 digits of your VIN before ordering anything. The on-line Jaguar factory parts web sites will check your VIN against the part number for proper fit. I don't see that any of the blend door part numbers have been superseded either.

Do you have the service manual? I "think" it is at the top of the forum in one of the stickies? There are a number of pages on all the blend doors and it's too much to post but the instructions are in there!

Here is a good thread on blend doors that might help? Note that a lot of people are trying to fix the "gurgling" from behind the dash which is a related but different problem from what you have. Both problems are blend door related.
