Question Part number or name. Help Please!

Does anyone know the part number and the correct name of the front struts for a jaguar S-type 2000 4.0 V8? Front what I understand it has some kind of electronic adjusting system. The other thing is when I'm driving it the car sways to s bit to the left and right as I drive. The steering wheel doesn't seem to have any play or give to it, so I'm wondering if it has to do with the fact that the strut is no good for something else. I'm trying to buy the parts my-self and then bring it to a shop for installation.

Thank you, for any help!

I had the same problem with the swaying. Found out to late after front driver wheel folded under, that the lower ball joints were bad. It is fixed now and handle like a new car.

Jaguar had problems with the front lower ball joints from the beginning. Here is the first indication we had that something was wrong.

They did have problems but weren't they fixed with that recall? We've had very few problems on here and after all the cars are now about 10 years old so it's normal to have wear to the point of needing repair.

Moshu - that sounds like CATS (computer active technology suspension). You'll find the parts easily enough on online parts stores including of course the site sponsors.

Okay. I dont think it's the ball joint, because I've had a lot of those part replaced. I did notice today that the STABLIZER LINK is loose. I can rotate it a bit with my hands. So far the strut for the CATS is $270 a piece. Is that about right?
