Default Part number please?

Hi all, I've searched in JEPC but can't find what I'm after.

The part number I'm after is for the quarter-turn screw that holds the plastic engine cover on a v8 4.2 motor.

Thanks to all who can help with the part number and perhaps even a supplier??

Cheers
Dave

Hi Norri and thanks for the reply.

No it's not that one, it's a metal screw that holds the actual top engine cover (above the inlet manifold) on - there are 4 of them but I only have two.

Well that's not the engine cover but those small fasteners are always broken.
Be aware they are standard Ford parts and are used on the Lincoln LS in the same place. So any Ford dealer is likely to have them in stock.

The engine cover has 4 push on connectors and they are different lengths from front to back. 4 in total.

Which ones are you looking for?

Is the NA different to the STR (which has 4 rubber things that fit onto posts)?
Sounds like it is...

Yes you are right. STR and N/A have different Engine covers.

Those engine cover fasteners part numbers are tough to find. I can't find the post that explained it.

Well you made me go and find it!!!

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...astners-88484/

It's very confusing how Jaguar handled these things but the thread above has everything laid out with part numbers. Contains both the SC and N/A V-8 engine covers.

Thanks to Steve again because without a factory tech we never would have found them!!

Hi Tbird and thanks for your comments. Unfortunately for me, what you say is correct for the STR and it's top cover which goes on top of the std engine cover that I have, (non-str) which has 4 identical metal quarter turn screws, and it's those that I'm after.

I just don't understand why people can't put these fixings back in place when they've done their work - Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calm down Dave

Yes it is frustrating--according to the dealer one has to buy a new engine cover(4.2 N.A.)
