Passenger mirror moves all the way in or out when pushing unlock button on key fob

I've taken car to the dealer at least three times for this problem. It's in today for the fourth time and this time I actually had the service advisor see what it's been doing upon pushing unlock. I lock the door and when I unlock it the passenger mirror moves all the way in or all the way out. I could never get it to do it at the dealer until today. I wanted to know if anyone has had this problem. I've tried to reset the memory and use the second fob. Car is a 03 V8 S-Type

I've had the same issue with the passenger mirror acting up as well, but mine occasionally happens when I push the seat recall button. When I push the button the seat goes to its normal position and sometimes but not always the passenger mirror goes all the way out. I will fix the mirror then reprogram the seat reset and then will have no issues for a while then it pops back up again.

Mine will do the same thing sometimes when I use the memory button. I just wonder why it only does it on the passenger side and if the mirror needs to be replaced. I was talking to the tech at the Jaguar dealer and of course he couldn't get it to do it again, but at least the service advisor knows I'm not crazy.

Well it's back and the dealer has reset everything and it still does it. Does anyone have any idea of what could be the issue. To add more info on this issue, when the mirror moves all the way in or out and you push the memory button "1" it uses it's last position as the memory and stays all the way out or in. My warranty is out in another 2,000 miles and if something needs to be replaced I would like to have the warranty cover it.

Update on Mirror:
Received car back today and they replaced the passenger mirror motor. I was told by the service tech that the mirror motor has a memory inside of it and the reason it was going all the way in or out was because it was searching for it's memory position. I'll find out if its fixed in the next couple of days.

Well, yesterday after getting off work I unlocked the door and stood there and watched the mirror move to the "all the way in" position. In other words it's doing the same thing as before and the motor didn't fix it.
My question is does anyone know of anything other then the motor that could cause such a problem and I know that the dealer didn't reset everything after installing the motor, so would that resolve the issue?
Brutal you have a pm

I apologize for not coming back to this thread and posting the FIX for my issue. The dealer found voltage on one of the wires going to the mirror and finally rewired the mirror. It took them two days to recreate the problem and two days to fix it. I have not had any issues with the mirror since they rewired it.

Hi all,
THanks for the update... Here is what i did solved the mirror problem
1- adjust both of the mirrors in its position you wanted. Do NOT lock the door!
2- disconnect bettery ground wire for 2-3min
3- reconnect bettery ground wire
4- insert master key and programed it by turn clock/counterwise 2-3 times you will see all the windows moves down/up
5- use remote keyless press lock/unlock 4-5 times problem solved
Actually this procedure I've learned from Land Rover Technician who taught me how to programed remote keyless entry from my 1999 Range Rover 4.6HSE.
(Note: this procedure works on my case and hopping helps other as well?
