Hey guys, I was thinking to put a performance chip in my 2001 s-type 4.0. I came across thislink http://slrmotorsports.com/shop/index...tail&p=388. Tell me what you guys think. I just wantmy s-type to be real fast.I am interested to see if someone has chipped their s-type.

 

Never seen that, I have absolutely no clue if that would even do anything. To be honest I've put and exhaust system on my 4.0 S-type and an air intake and the gains are minimal. Now the only thing that would make your jag supper fast would probably be a 150 shot of nitrous. With the V8 engine you could easily add 125-150 hp no prob without hurting your car.

 

That chip is garbage. Waste of money. Move on.

50bhp for $70? Come on.....

 

I would not do major upgrades to the 4.0 it's not as strong as the 4.2

 

It's just as strong for what's available.

If anything a 120 shot would kill the tranny way before the engine. Nitrous at that level is %50 cooling effect. Not pure wanton explosive power.

I'd not do that to a Jaguar anyway, save some cash and buy a ST-R, they are cheap down there anyway.
