Try performancechiptuning.com. I have a stage1 and really like it. There is an outfit that does plug in tuner reviews. They take them apart and check out the circuit boards. They know what they are doing

Well the main problem is your trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear!!!
Your V6 is NOT a high performance car in any way. That's exactly why Jaguar made the STR.
Super charged V-8 with upgraded suspension and tires.

It has to be the entire package to work right. It's not a question of blowing up the engine. It's the fact that people interested in hi performance Jaguars don't buy the V6 version.
So of course your not going to find anything to increase performance except the fraud crap as posted above.

Be happy with the car you purchased. It is a good car!
As you said it does pretty much all that you need.

With the terrible resale value of any Jaguar the advice to purchase a car to match your desires is a great suggestion.
Way cheaper than trying to modify something with all the added costs and complexity involved.
And I LIKE to modify cars!!

So, where should i really even start.
definitely with some positive info.
ill talk about remapping in a second, but first, lets note 3 nice to know things:

Number 1 baby:
Noble has the same engine with twin turbabies
Yes they lowered the compression with shorter rods so they can safely add compression with the forced induction

Number twobeedoobiedoo:
there are plenty of nissans and mazdas on youtube swapped with a turbo charged duratec v6 salvaged from fords, lincolns or jags.
(With the same rods, will it eventually blOW?
I dont knOW lol)

number three:
We all know, small engine versions of
dodge, chevy and ford cars come with v6' too, and people always supercharge them too.
Example: A v6 3.6vvt (pentastar engine) supercharged and tuned dodge charger can keep up with a STOCK scatpack dodge charger.
I dont see why our engine couldnt do that.

REMAPPING:
ok if a sc or a turbo sounds expensive, lets see what can we do with remapping.
As the car is n/a, not a big deal, BUT if we add the following:
- better exhausts
- COLD air intake ( and done properly with insulation, routing, etc. not just throwing a round filter 3 cm away from the exhaust manifold to breath in all the hot air)
- MY FAVORITE: ST200 air intake manifold, the crossover gives more peak power.
someone remmaped their aj30 with that inlet and GOT 272 HP. yeah!

so do those three things to have the engine inhaling and exhaling better, then remap your car to make it use her new parts.

dont buy no bmw fanboy chip. Aint no such thing as 100+ hp from a obd plugin

people use it for different applications, of course its easy with a standalone ecu.

but if you add substance to the aj30 engine, on a jaguar, you can remap the jaguar ecu itself.

a good tuner can

They also modified the lubrication system to provide oil jets to cool the pistons and other subtle modifications, including forged pistons, etc. It is not your grandfather's Duratec...

I think you proved my point very well??
Yes anything can be modded up to whatever HP you want. Now lets be realistic here?
If you driving a decades old Jaguar with a V-6 engine you simply don't have the money to do all those neat but expensive things.

Please post what a Noble costs?
Here is a 2004 model. This is an 18 year old car and it still costs $65K!!
Yes it's fast as hell and cool as hell and EXPENSIVE as hell!
2004 Noble

That's why we try to tell folks to get the model you want up front. The STR is a down right performance bargain as they have terrible resale values. For what they go for you get a LOT of car.

Couple months ago, i was told here, that
i shouldn't swap my 2.5 for the 3.0...
that it wouldn't be worth it,
that it would be a very bad idea.
I did it myself $300 with parts and engine.
Markets are different and so are possibilities.
Car works perfectly fine and all the consumables replaced (mann/mahle and oem level manufacturers)

right now i am in romania and its dirt cheap to get car parts to mod a smaller engine. Taxes to own a v8 would sit around $2000/yr here.

there are a multitude of forced induction methods, kits and parts, on budget.
you can run a fuel cut defender system and keep the stock ecu.
you can run low pressure on stock internals, and still have some boost.
Youtube is full of turbocharged 3.0 duratec engines, salvaged from old ford cars.

but yes, you are right. The more reinforcements and cooling, the better.

i will keep you guys updated, as i want to try a supercharger on mine.
