Well, the weather in Pittsburgh isn't always the best, so I have not been able to wash/wax my S-type that I just bought in February.
After a recommendation from my cousin who owns an Acura RL, I went ahead and splurged on a Ziebart Diamond Gloss deal my local Ziebart store had currently. $240 first time, and $99/year after that. They put this layer on your car which is basically just a stronger wax. It lasts a whole year, you can wash the car whenever you want and it shouldn't affect it. As soon as you wash it, it brings the shine back. So far so good, I will keep you guys updated on how it turns out as time goes on. If this stuff really lasts a whole year, $99 (to me) is nothing in return for not having to wax for a whole year!
Anyway, I got the Ziebart stuff put on a week ago and over the course of the week the car got somewhat dirty. I washed it off with just plain water and yes indeed, the shine came back as if it were newly waxed. Lets see how long this lasts.
Here are some pics.
Figured I'd share them with everyone! Feel free to post pics of your S-Type...

The car looks great. It has a nice depth to the color. However, I really question the product claims. Is it a sealant? You said it is a "stronger wax", but I don't think there isany carnuba that is going to last a year.
If you want to learn more about washing & waxing your car check out www.autogeekonline.net.
I have a thread on this board under the show and shine that has pictures of my S-type after I detailed it.

reddrawf,
I just called it a stronger type of wax because to me that's what it seems like...although I know nothing of detailing, so me calling it that was more of a "newbie" perspective.
In reality it is something different.
Here, this is the product I am talking about:
