Default Pirelli P Zero & STR

Had my Accelera tyres removed on Wednesday and replaced with Pirelli P Zero sent to my tyre man here in the UK from Pirelli in Germany. At the same time I had my alloys repainted gunmetal grey as discussed in another post. Went out for drive with new tyres. WOW what a difference, sticks to the road like glue. 100% happy. Just a little bit extra road noise but nothing to get concerned about. Had a lot of lookers and some great comments so very pleased. Total cost for tyres including balance and valves £1000.00 so not a bad price as well if you look at UK tyre traders. Not sure of the price in $ or what they would cost state side. These tyres are the latest to come out of the Pirelli Factory soI am told. With my low mileage they should still be on the STR untill I go to the happy hunting ground.

Good to hear that you are happy.

Good price as well.

I run correct Pirellis on the old XJ40, great in summer, not bad in rain, but best get out and walk on snow and ice.

Do we get a picture of your well dressed Jag?

Fresh rubber and wheels just a slightly darker paint job. I am very pleased, not 100% sure about centre caps in red got a genuine set of Jaguar silver centre caps.

My wife's XK8 (acquired in early February) came with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires on the rear axle. While they may stick to dry pavement, they simply do not last very long, cannot tolerate temperatures near or below freezing, and get squirrelly in the rain. I replaced them with a pair of Yokohama YK580 tires in mid-April, and she has been much happier with the car ever since....

Pirelli P-Zero Rosso were replaced with the P-Zero apparantly a lot of design development work has been done on the new tyre. The S Type R was supplied with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tyres. I was informed that the P-Zero is a very different tyre to the Rosso. As they say "time will tell" Be a long tme for me as I only do about 4 k per year.

Ride looks sweet! Pirellis are fantastic in hugging the road in wet/dry. I too have Pirelli P Zero XL's on my STR in 20's, not the updated type, but my wheels are powder coated Platinum Metallic to match my body paint.

I'm drooling over my keyboard, your car looks superb Mac.

Loving the slightly darker wheels, they give a nice contrast.

Re centre caps, change them as the mood takes you, or as the yob nicks them.
