way to hang in there Mike!!! persistance pays off! While your buttoning up the front put the charger on the rear so you are ready to roc-n-roll when the time comes to START her up! BTW use distilled water in the battery.

Hey, good result (eventually). Shame about the parts bag.

If you have the usual (for the jag) vented battery you could leave the fill port covers on. No harm loosening them, though. The vent (if your battery has it) is in the short side of the battery (furthest from the rear bumper) and should have tubing to take any fumes out of the trunk.

As what jagv8 mentioned, look to the right of battery pic, right of the last fill hole there is a small white fitting that is the vent tube.

Thanks all for the help. Saw the vent tube for the battery. Also went to Interstate site and say you should leave the fluid covers on the battery but like you said Jagv8, can be loose. One more thing though and maybe Brutal or someone can confirm, for my car, their really isn't a Number 8 for my setup. My 9 goes right into the 6. the tech at Jag thought that depending on Vin, some had that extra piece and some did not. Seemed sincere when explaining and hope that is the case. Again, thank you.

HI there

I am now having this same problem.

Amadauss did you plug the part illustrated as number 9 straight into number 6?

Or did you manage to source part number 8 in the end?

Regarding the PCV valve, do our cars actually have one as I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Regards,
Gibbo

Gibbo, if the same car, went over my posts and I explained everything in them. I can't remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday . I think in the end the way Brutal was explaining it is the way it finally ended up. But again, as you are removing or taking things out, the process would be just the reverse. My case was the parts were labeled wrong by the dealer. He had them in plastic bags that had been opened and then stapled back together with the wrong parts inside. Thus my issues. Good luck

Parts are labeled wrong by world pac parts. Supplier to most manufacturers, not the dealers. Just to keep that clear

How do I go about getting the right part Brutal do you know as mine came in a sealed bag but its a PCV valve which goes down in the engine V. Do you know what part number I need to request to get the right part or a decent image of the part please?
