Default PO 328 code

I have an on again off again code that comes on and then clears itself. Got a reading yesterday of a PO328 Knock sensor 1, Bank1 Circuit high Input.. do I need to replace a knock sensor or is it actually detecting a knock?... it usually never comes on when engine is cold and came come on at idle or crusing the freeway? thanks for any input... john

Three possible causes of the P0328 are:

1. Poor sensor contact with cylinder block
2. KS to ECM sense circuit: high resistance, open circuit, short circuit to high voltage
3. KS failure

As it only occurs with a warm engine, suspect connections first before condemning the KS.

I always like to start with the lowest cost option and work up. Usually it ends up not having to buy a replacement part.

Hope your luck is in.

Graham,
Isn't the usual procedure
1. Remove and retain knock sensor
2. Discard Jaguar
3. Refit KS to new Jaguar?
