I got the select edition warranty through the dealer. I know they also offer aftermarket warranties as well. I mention a Jaguar dealer as a source since often they are overlooked. And no, I don't work for one. The way I praise mine you'd think I did. That said, if you start with a dealer relationship they will probably go out of their way to help. Mine treats me like I bought the car new yet I bought it as a sub 20k used car. Also do a search on warranties on the forum and read up on various people's experience. That said......Go for the V8...wish I did. Don't get me wrong, I love my car, just wish I had held out for a 8.

The dealer selling the car doesnt offer a warranty since its past 100k miles. Could i take it to a Jag dealer and get it inspected and get a warranty through them?
Also on the carfax there doesn't seem to be much that needed to be replaced. It seems like it just had routine services, alignments, just the usual. Im not sure if this is a good or bad thing seeing as how by 109k miles you would expect some wear and tear. I can post the link to it if anyone would like to help.
This will my first Jaguar, so im not sure what to expect really. From what I read it had problems to be expected just like any other car, so excuse my lack on knowledge on the subject. But any help would be greatly appreciated. Most everyone here seems to be genuine Jag lovers and there seems to be a great deal of good info available here.

That's what I meant by checking with a dealer. I meant to look for your local Jaguar dealer and simply ask. I'm sure they sell after-market warranties as well. Be sure to check what it covers as well. Also, post the dealer or your location and possibly there is another user from the area that could help you. Don't worry, we're not stalkers, so it is OK to post your city.....
Back to the Jag dealer. When you talk to them, ask how much for an inspection. I'm guessing it would be about 100 to 150. They would be able to run it through the diagnostic computer as well and be able to see how everything is doing. One of the great things about modern cars. When, and I stress, a GOOD technician pulls the data from the PCM they can see how well it is running and if there are any things to be concerned about.
Hope that helps...

Im waiting for the Jaguar dealer to get back to me with news on the warranty, but just in case they do not offer a warranty what would be the best aftermarket warranty to get for my car. I noticed there are several people with easy care or something like that, but if i read correctly it only covers cars up to 75k miles. Ive seen some that cover cars up to 250k miles but im just needing something to make sure i have some sort of protection while i am finding out what needs replaced.

It might be possible to buy an aftermarket warranty, but please evaluate cost vs. coverage. The selling companies are there to make money, not be 'your friends'.
The newer AJ engine series has no real known major faults not does the ZF transmission, so I don't think buying a warranty for total catastrophe is uhh, warranted.

I was looking around in the nashville area and stumbled across this stpye that has far less miles and a warranty. It seems to be in excellent condition. Was wondering what you guys thought?. It almost seems too good to be true
